It is the worst when doctors go bad

http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/Cities/Two_doctors_held_for_committing_fraud/articleshow/3471179.cms

LUCKNOW: Two doctors were arrested for allegedly committing fraud by failing to inform a father that his child had died during treatment, police said on Thursday.

Dr Mirza Waqar Beg and Dr Satish Kumar on Wednesday taken into the custody after complainant Shahid Pervez alleged that the doctors kept the body of his dead son in their private hospital for non-payment of dues, they said.

He also alleged in his report lodged on April l7 in Kaiserbagh police station that doctors committed fraud from him by not disclosing that his son, who was admitted to the neonatal ward of the hospital, had died during the treatment.

Pervez alleged that the doctors had kept the infant, who died at midnight, on a ventilator till the morning. Later, postmortem report revealed timing of death.

The arrests were made after preliminary enquiry suggested alleged involvement of doctors in the fraud, police added.

(When God is judging them they will wish they had been poor and in the morgue instead of the poor baby and tormented father, because God will assuredly thrust them in hell for all eternity, unrepentant).

Yankee Stadium memories by Billy Crystal

A poignant and concise memory in honor of the last game being played today at Yankee Stadium. All baseball fans can relate to what Mr. Crystal writes, even those of us who attended games there only in spirit, not in person, LOL. Though I was excited to see it once from the subway as I trundled by on the way to visit a Bronx outpost of the Jewish charitable agency that I briefly worked for (until they ignominiously dumped me on my one year anniversary when I was supposed to receive a bonus percentage of the for profit part of the company). Even the glimpse of it during the day, when there was no game, was moving.

My comment about the Pakistan bombing

I deplore all terrorism and terrorist acts. They are not God's will and will be severely judged by him when the time comes. I feel deeply for all the victims and their families, many of whom were modest people just trying to provide for their families. I think about that security guard who we see on the video tape bravely trying to extinguish the fire in the truck, before the one ton of explosives hidden inside detonated.

Commentators are quick to simplify, to put into black and white, why these things happen. I just listened to a report that jumps to the conclusion that it is because of the Pakistan-American alliance. Such simplifications obscure what is really going on, and therefore hinders resolution or at least de-escalation.

It is the escalation that I want to speak of today. It is never a good thing when a government, regardless of the provocation, invades a mosque where militants reside and results in the deaths of many people, as I recall, it was a hundred or so. Pakistan did just that, invading a militant occupied mosque, not so long ago. This is something the United States learned (but the lessons have not been plumbed fully enough) when it fired upon a cultist sect compound that resulted in a huge loss of life, including children inside, when it burned to the ground. Humans have historically understood the importance of patience, of laying siege when one must, but not recently, when both Western and Eastern politicians and military people seem to not "wait" and just turn to the gun. That is escalation.

Then, the terrorists feel it becomes "no hold barred" combat. If a mosque can be attacked and many inside killed and wounded, including naive students under the sway of the militants, then why not bomb during Ramadan? That is the terrible step by step "logic" of the escalation of terrorism. Also, each of these events become touchstones and reference points for future revenge and "anniversary" violence, as we see in both the United States after the Waco siege and now in Pakistan after the Red Mosque siege. (Read about these and follow up events in the links below).

It seems that no government today understands how you can be firm but also grounded securely on morals and good example, and thus prevent escalation of the violence.

Again, prayers and condolences to all who have been harmed in this dastardly turn of events. But I urge everyone to remember that every step "across the Rubicon" tends to bring an equal escalation and hardening of heart by humans in opposition and return. The military of Pakistan, the real power holders, must decide how to respond. I urge them to reconsider a policy of using even greater force and greater ferocity, because that sows the dragons teeth that are never ending into the ground of violence. To the terrorists I say that you should beware of turning your piety toward God into a war machine that then becomes incapable of feeling piety, even if they think they still do.

Celebrities visiting Haiti

I appreciate it. I really, really do. As you know the Haitians are near and dear to my heart and I hate seeing their suffering.

But please do not go unless you also bring along with you supplies. Even a modest car load of supplies can make a huge difference. In other words, stock the kitchens, don't just "raise awareness."

When I sponsored Native American children and visited them in their homes, my husband and I always stopped at the grocery store on the way there and loaded up the rental car with food and toys for the children, and things for the bathroom. In other words, we stocked up and brought a full vehicle. Celebrities can and should do the same. Your luggage should be food and necessities, and you empty it out at the place that you visit. THAT is setting an example and trust me, even a modest amount of food is a God send to the people who have nothing.

I remember that absolute delight that my friends (family of nine at the time) had when one of our bags contained a giant jar of peanut butter. They had not had their own jar of peanut butter in the home in something like a year. When we brought milk it was the first milk they had for all seven of the children that was not saved for just the youngest to have, or obtained during the school lunch programs. One bag of groceries can provide incredible help to even a family of nine.

The days of the stupid "awareness raising" and "concerts for blah blah blah" are over. People are in trouble everywhere and sliding backwards in receiving assistance. It is time for people to be grassroots in their assistance. People who can afford to go to Haiti on good will visits should also be bringing supplies with them, just as was done in the early progressive days of charity and disaster relief. That is how it used to be done until the larger relief arrives and the systemic problems that cause the disaster can be addressed on a comprehensive level.

If the celebrities discretely left cash donations, not seeking publicity, more power to them and God will see and know. But they also need to teach the public how to help when institutional and large scale "fund raising" fails. If celebrities were "Martha Stewart" to the church food and supplies pantry for the day or week that they arrive, it has an enormous ripple effect.

So I thank you again for your concern that I know is genuine, and for your behind the scenes generosity where it occurs, but you must also be role models of modest scale "home making" for these desperate people. Stop waiting for the "big rescue" and "big projects." Fill up your stupid Hummers, rental cars, helicopter, plane, boat or whatever transport you used to get there with food and supplies, just as if you were visiting a huge family or clan in desperate need. You think that feeding a hundred people for a week is not large or good enough for you? Think again.

They are concerned about hotel security

Years ago I favored their hotel in London, staying there frequently for both business and personal travel. I liked it (even had my first venison in their restaurant) and thought it was a good place with professional staff.

Unfortunately I discovered the staff were deliberately indiscreet about both my personal stay at the hotel and also about what I would call my "work," the days before my public ministry. Thus they spied and reported on both my personal intimate activities with loved ones AND about what they thought were my routine decisions which they provided to occult followers. (Cultists monitor and manipulate all sorts of ordinary daily activities, thinking that they are "clues" to things like bogus past lives, future "foretune telling," etc. It is anti-God in every respect).

No one need wonder how terrorists know who is staying in hotels and what they are up to. Don't need to hire high priced consultants to figure that out. Just look at what has been done to me over the decades.

Ironic when staff that blabs and violates privacy then feels the heat, sometimes.

Bible Reading: Psalms 57:7

They have set a trap for my feet;
my soul is bowed down;
They have dug a pit before me.
May they fall into it themselves! ...Selah

***
A psalm written by King David. This psalm (plus several others) is actually annotated with the name of the melody that accompanying musicians were to use for this psalm, which was "Do not destroy." Interesting to imagine what that melody might have sounded like.

By the way, one thing I am soooooo tired of are these evil fruitcake "New Agers" and "spiritual" people who constantly talk about "karma" and "what goes around comes around" as if that is something that is "of the universe" and not of God.

This excerpt from sacred scriptures indicates quite clearly that the concept is original to God, not to flaky spiritualists. Those who dig a pit for the innocent are likely to fall into it themselves ("what goes around comes around") except that this is of God's will, if it takes place, because only God knows the entire picture of when to allow those to fall into their own traps, and when to extend one more time mercy to allow for repentance, remediation and conversion. The idea of "karma" is like a machine and is soul less, and therefore totally in error. By understanding that "what goes around comes around" is ultimately in an all-knowing God's hands, one realizes and should be humbled that when such "comeuppance" is not delivered then God in his wisdom is allowing for the work of spirit and mercy to take place. The pseudo-ancient but definitely modern "karma new age" view of this is machine-like and not acknowledging that God extends many chances for those who may deserve chastisement to avoid it so that they can feel his wisdom and mercy and repent.

Great open letter by Supreme Knight

Not only is this a great statement of faith but students can study it as a fine example of intellectual reasoning based on fact and proper context.
