Blessed Philippa Mareri (died 1236)

Born of a wealthy landowner.
Her family, especially her brother, tried to force her into a marriage.
When they persisted she ran away.
She became a hermit with a group of followers.
Her brother relented and gave her a house for her community.
Blessed Roger Todi became their spiritual director.
Philippa was elected abbess.
She was credited with numerous miracles.
