He was a hero not only because he gave his life under fire saving his girlfriend, but because he lived a quietly authentic life of devotion, hard work, love, and joy in the Lord's creation. He was a hero even before he made the ultimate sacrifice because he's a role model for the type of life so many have forgotten how to live, even if it is handed to them on a silver platter. Heroes are not "Men in Black," stupid video games, or stupid Manga or whatever it is called. This young man was a hero throughout his life and I'm sure the angels are touching his heavenly shoulders and sleeves in admiration.
