Key said there was one placenta, one outer membrane and four inner membranes.
Two of the girls were sent home to a hospital in Canada on Thursday and the other two are expected to go there soon. They will all stay in special care for six weeks.
When the couple found out they were having quadruplets, friends and family wanted to immediately start purchasing clothes and diapers, but they held off, because of the high risk of the pregnancy.
Now, though, the friends are ready to get started.
