An example of willful educational stupidity

Here’s an anecdote about how stupid “scholars” and “health care professionals” have become.

In the late 1980’s and early 1990’s I became very interested in the psychoanalytical techniques of Carl Jung. He had profound insights into the human psyche and there is much to what he taught that has tremendous potential benefit if one is able to sort between reality and analogy.

So I attended seminars at the Jung Foundation in NYC. Here is one example of what I “learned:”

The instructor (a woman) said, “Have you noticed that the surnames of the great psychologists indicate what type of psychology they specialized in?” (The implication is that there is an actual link between someone’s last name and their destiny and mindset). OMG I am thinking at this point.

She says, “Notice that Jung means young in German. He had a very new and youthful psychology!”

(I am paraphrasing here as this was like I said, over 15 years ago or so).

I wrote that down in my notebook and thought *barf.*

She says, “Notice that Freud sounds like freund which means friend in German! He focused on psychology of like sex and friendliness!”

(I am really paraphrasing here but you get my point, as I got hers).

I wrote that down in my notebook and thought *puke.*

She says, “Notice that Adler means eagle in German! He had a psychology based on power!”

I wrote that down in my notebook and thought *eagle poo* (I am paraphrasing what I actually thought).

Yes sir and ma’am, these are the people who are the scholars and healthcare workers who mess with people’s minds.

Um, I can’t believe I actually have to say this for ANYONE’S benefit and education, but for that last retard out there… there IS NO DESTINY in people’s “names,” “anagrams,” “birth dates,” “numerology,” or “what their name kind of sounds like in a given language if you pronounce it a certain way.”

For example, someone with the last name of King or Lord sure ain’t by birth a king or lord.

By the way, it was around this time I started thinking that home schooling might be the only thing to save American education and the brains of children.
