One of my favorite songs from ago

When in college I loved the song by Deep Purple, "Sweet Child of Time." I did not have it, money being scarce, but my roommate had the album that contained this song and fortunately liked it too. It was released as a single September 1970.

I liked it (and still do) with foreboding. You can find the lyrics here:

The foreboding came from knowledge that humans were on the brink of fulfilling the warning in this song in so many areas it may well doom many souls, and it has. I read the news and listen to the movements and thoughts of people and the ricochet is thicker than a blizzard.

Sweet child in time, you'll see the line

Line that's drawn between good and bad

See the blind man shooting at the world

Bullets flying, ooh taking toll

If you've been bad - Oh Lord I bet you have

And you've not been hit oh by flying lead

You'd better close your eyes, aahaouho

bow your head

Wait for the ricochet
