"Honey From the Rock: Sixteen Jews find the Sweetness of Christ" Compiled by Roy Schoeman. 2007. Ignatius Press, SF.
I'm reading this wonderful book and highly recommend it. All but one of these conversion stories is told in the converted's own words, with great accompanying text by Mr. Schoeman (who is one of the sixteen). I feel like I am being introduced to some amazing new friends as I read this, except for the great Alphonse Ratisbonne (Jesuit) and Hermann Cohen (Carmelite), who I already well remember from long ago. The lives of these men and women took place in the 1800's, 1900's, and to the present time. Very inspiring and pertinent to today (even the story of the Socialist David Goldstein who became a defender of the Catholic Faith). Temptations of socialism still circulate today and it is instructive to read about someone who suddenly saw through the illusion of socialism and recognized the true foundation of faith. And Rabbi Israel Zolli! I remember the sensation of his conversion too, and it was a pleasure reading his experience in his own words.
