Sorrow at passing of Hamilton Jordan

I had just returned from a very short walk outside to hear CNN announce that Hamilton Jordan had succumbed today. I am so very sorry to hear that and extend sincere sympathy to his family.

I remember him very well from the President Carter days and I was a great fan of his. His survival in the face of such severe cancer was truly heroic. I had hoped to meet him sometime. Some years ago I helped someone whose sister has close ties to President Carter, but nothing came of that (I had been hoping to be of assistance in the work of the Carter Center). I would have been very pleased to meet Hamilton Jordan then.

Ah well. My condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.
