Why I'm for John McCain
John McCain and I share a large part of the same place in the political spectrum. But the primary reason that I'm for John McCain is that he is wise. He is wise in the way that comes from a balanced, and not extreme, perspective, that comes from age and experience, of course, but also from suffering and service. John McCain understands not only the ways of this great country and its people, but also the ways of the world and of reality. He can be very hard toward people he perceives as hostile toward this country, but he will likewise stand firm against torture being called into service against "hostiles" and will implacably take the heat from those who should applaud his virtue and morality and instead attack him. His temperament and sometimes unpredictability ensure he is one of the few people who does not seem to have a speck of fake or plastic within him. A President needs feeling and thinking and sometimes being smooth is a sign of being overly processed, and we do not need to worry that John McCain is an overly processed "product" rather than being a real man.
