A Favorite joke from Long Ago

This is from my oldie but goodie collection:

Jesus comes upon a mob of people who are about to stone an adulteress. He steps forward to save her life, preaching to them, and saying, "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone!"

As everyone hesitates a short, resolute little lady pushes her way to the front of the crowd. She picks up a huge stone and hurls it right at the adulteress.

With dismay Jesus sighs and says, "Mother!!"



(ha ha ha, I heard that one when I was a child and it's a wicked pleasure joke :)
