A Christian Horror Story

A Christian Horror Story

Suppose that when Jesus was born that in Nazareth lived a group of pagan people who were a type of pagan gypsy psychic fortunetellers by nature and who recognized who Jesus was, without being told, and without being part of the pious community (e.g. the sheepherders) who had come to adore him at birth. Suppose they recognized “who” Jesus was, and this is not far fetched because remember, when Jesus is an adult and travels in his mission as Messiah, unclean spirits and demons recognize and fear him on sight. But suppose these “psychic” people, unlike the unclean spirits and demons, do not fully understand who he is and his mission. This would be for two reasons, one is that the source of their knowledge is tainted, since it is not purely from God, and second because they are not from pious people of the Book, people who understand fully and believe in God’s will as articulated in the Old Testament. What would these people do?

They would figure they had valuable information and start to explore ways to secretly use it to their advantage and entertainment. They would spy on Jesus and his family and record their every move, in order to calculate their significance about “who” he really is and how they can gain from this knowledge. They would test Jesus and his family to “test their powers.” It would start out as things like sending certain playmates into Jesus’ circle and seeing what he liked, what he feared, as a human child. But inevitably it would become horribly corrupt. They would start to test his divine “knowledge” and his “mortality” by putting things in his food, like the garbage from pig sties, to see if he could either tell that a filth or poison was in his food, and or see if he could overcome the negative effects on his body. Having broken that taboo barrier they would be tempted further and further, especially as he grew. They would crave pictures of him that are either of his naked body or of him in embarrassing or demeaning situations. They would rationalize that he must surely not mind, or his divine power would have informed him of these intrusions. But of course they would keep this secret from him and his family, and circulate these pictures among themselves. Eventually these pictures would totally overthrow their minds (much as child pornography has done to our society today.) They become obsessed with his bathroom functions, and eventually their own bathroom functions and that of everyone else. They start to think this is natural and even think of it in terms of sexuality or self worth. They would figure if they could get away with this, that they were lucky, blessed, or meant to do this “work” due to karma (that catch all for doing anything foul and taking no responsibility for it.) So they would start to view their knowledge of Jesus as a cash cow. They would observe things like what fruit he bought in the marketplace, figure that is “lucky” or “holy” fruit and then invest in the country that produces this fruit. Secretly they may even brand this as being “the fruit that Jesus eats.” In their inflation they would amuse themselves by either making available in a market on a given day an item that Jesus wishes to purchase, or contrarily, removing that item no matter where he goes (“because after all, if he is so divine, he’d know about this.”) They copy and market his ideas, gleaned from his hobbies and personal enjoyment, and become “millionaires” by using his childish writings, drawings, play games, and fictional book interests. They figure that if he’s reading a book that’s not the Bible, then it’s a “sign” of how people should be, and, of course, where their secret wealth can be found. They go through his things and his garbage and collect trophies.

One day an important member of this psychic family is unexpectedly killed. Their guilty consciences kick in, but not in a redemptory way. They become “mad” at Jesus, figuring this was a deliberate killing by Jesus or on his behalf, even though they’ve been so careful to not let Jesus know that they have been stalking, using, and abusing him. They start to blame every illness (such as cancer or anything involving the bowels or sexual disorders) and set back in the family on Jesus, instead of themselves, even though they know that if it had been occurring as they suspect, that they had provoked it. And their judgment is pretty bad by this time, because they are drunks and opium addicts. One cannot engage in such profane activity without succumbing to addictions, and eventually, the addictions are the “spirit guides” that inform them in their activities. An example of this is the common hallucination during certain drug abuse that insects are crawling all over one’s body. When one abuses drugs one imagines people, animals, entities, and conversations that do not exist except in one’s addled mind. They start to think maybe they were wrong about Jesus, because clearly he is so human and such a dummy, that he can’t be the “Messiah” or Son of God. They start to decide “who” he really is, based on their twisted ideas of karma. They wonder if he was this historical person who had died, or that one, reincarnated. They then bloat their own importance even further, thinking that if he is person X from the past, then each member of this “psychic” family must be his reincarnated friends, family, lovers, enemies, and victims from the past. They get a thrill imagining that perhaps he’s a reincarnated female, one that was notorious. This happens when Satan rules one’s mind and soul, because the way dragged down into filth is endless (again, look at much of what is happening in our current society.) They start to think they have to write a script and “reenact with corrections” these imaginary past lives with Jesus and his family. They initiate beefs that never exist. They make sexual assumptions and overtures that are disgusting and profane. They let members of his family become sick and die because of bad medicine, figuring that these folks were all part of their sick imaginary pantheon of actors from crazy karma land. Eventually all of Jesus and his family’s time is totally managed by these psychic stalkers.

What if that had happened? Where would the world be today? Thankfully, it did not happen. As cruel as the times were, with wars, slavery, worship of idols, poverty, lack of sanitation, the devil did not rule the minds of people in the time of Jesus. Like the Book of Job illustrates, the devil influenced personal sin and physical hardship, but the devil did not collectively rule the minds of humankind, and he certainly did not quarrel on a day to day basis with God. You can see that in the New Testament too, as Jesus is tempted in the desert, it is a dialogue with the devil, not a war. In a way, two thousand years ago the world was very pure. It was pure because it yearned for a Savior, and that is why Jesus was sent when he was sent. Pagan or Jew, the people were very pious. All of them feared God and wished to be in God’s good graces. They may not have understood how to do so, and so they needed a Messiah, but they yearned to know God and to be in his grace. St Paul even remarks how he found the city that had the marker to the “Unknown God,” because that city wanted to make sure they knew every possibility of God’s existence. St Paul then taught them who this Unknown God was. So in a way, with even the worst of the cruelties, for example of Herod’s slaughter of the innocents, this was still a pure time because everyone operated under the belief of a God or gods, and yearned to be “favored” by God or the gods. Many people thought they were prophets and many were false. But virtually no one thought they were God, thought they were reincarnated prophets from the Old Testament, or thought they were entitled to be “smarter” than God, or profane those who God loved because “they knew what was really going on.” People’s minds were not totally soiled by addictions, perversions, and inflated pride. These things happened but they were the realm of despots or “sin cities” or individuals, but they were not institutionalized as they are now.

I was reading about the martyrs of Vietnam and Korea, and of the terrible tortures they endured. (I was reading the article because it had great pictures and was well written and informative, not because I didn’t know about them ha ha.) I was interested to see some hard to find images and information being made available on the Internet through the efforts of one of our pious Catholic bloggers. With what is going on in Iraq and so forth, it is on many people’s minds, “Why do the people who persecute Christians always seem to conduct the worst torture on them imaginable?” Well, the answer is simple and implied in my above fictional horror story. The purity of heart and soul attracts the cruelty and ravening of the Beast (describe in Revelations in the Bible) in direct proportion. The more pure and innocent, the more the Beast must torture, obliterate, and destroy. This is humankind’s inborn flaw since original sin. Here I am not talking about the apple and Eve, but I’m talking of the first murder, the slaying of Abel by Cain. Of all the reasons to kill someone, much less a family member, imagine how it was that the first human murder was because Abel knew how to sacrifice and please the Lord and did so, while Cain knew how to do so but did not do so. It is not like God told Abel what to do and didn’t tell Cain. Everyone knew clearly what to do and what not to do. Notice you do not read about Adam and Eve performing a second sin after expulsion from Eden. Cain simply chose not to obey God’s rules about sacrifices, and then slew his own brother for understanding and obeying God. The Beast took over Cain, because the Beast hates the pure of heart. And the Beast is humankind’s own inner flaws from not making the evolutionary transition from predator to child of God. This is one reason one of my favorite movies is the classic “Forbidden Planet.” You will see what I mean.

Everything that is to say has been written in the Bible, Old and New Testament, and the Quran. There are no additional revelations or changes that are coming. It is all there. Just because society thinks they can spy and manipulate, and are so learned, does not mean that humankind has evolved out from under God’s will. There’s no one who is going to come along and say, “Oh, this part of the Bible no longer applies,” or “God didn’t really mean to sound so harsh here, and that’s not really a sin nowadays.” The books have been written and closed with the Bible and the Quran. No one is going to be able to rationalize and relativist themselves into heaven. God does not change, ever. His servants can be tortured and manipulated, but all that does is seal the fate of the torturers and gamesters. Someone once told me that the “best psychic” that she ever knew is a woman heroin addict in Australia. Think about the intelligence of that statement. This is the society we live in these days. People may believe the most insane and cruel things, but it does not change one iota what is written in the Bible and Quran and what will be fulfilled in heaven, on earth, and yes, in that very real place, hell.
