Police let 243 goats suffocate

They could have been saved simply by letting them out of the wrecked trailer. But police "were afraid of an auto accident" even though the herder and dogs were present. So they let 243 goats scream and suffocate to death in the wreck.

And this is the country that loves animals? And this is the country that will handle the next terrorism event? Police can't handle a traffic accident with goats but they would handle a terrorist? They can't block off traffic and save suffering animals, but they can handle a sudden terrorist event? Seems like the same part of the brain is used for a blockade and evacuation.

I really, really, really wonder about this country, often.
