Quick lesson about one of Jesus' miracles

Mark 9:14-28 Now when Jesus saw that a crowd was rapidly gathering, he rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, "Thou deaf and dumb spirit, I command thee, go out of him and enter him no more." And crying out and violently convulsing him, it went out of him, and he became like one dead, so that many said, "He is dead." But Jesus took him by the hand, and raised him and he stood up.
And when he had come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, "Why could not we cast it out?" And he said to them, "This kind can be cast out in no way except by prayer and fasting."

Notice that Jesus did not have to postpone the curing of the man's son in order to go and pray and fast. The purpose of this statement is to show that Jesus IS the embodiment of prayer and fasting. He has "fasted" (emptied himself) and "prayed" (filled himself) with the Holy Spirit, so he already in the state of grace, given by God, of being able to cure even those circumstances that requires such purity. He is explaining to the disciples that they too will be able to do this same type of miracle, when they too have sufficiently emptied themselves (become poor of spirit) in order to fill themselves with the healing power of the Holy Spirit. This is the explanation of this miracle, which has puzzled some who have read it.

He gave miracles in the name of Allah just like all the prophets before him .

Thank you

Jesus always pointed all of his words and deeds back to God, the father of all. All that is done is performed with the blessing of God/Allah.
