Poem about Indian legend, written today

A wise Indian woman said,
"It's turtles all the way down,"
But the man never asked her,
Why the turtles don't drown.

If turtles hold up the earth,
While floating in space,
Where's the water that keeps them
Afloat, not down faced?

Perhaps God keeps the turtle,
Safe in His palm,
The sweat of his brow,
Ensures all of the calm.
