"Scientology"

Interesting article about what should be an interesting book:

When I first married my ex-husband (an agnostic Jew) I met two of his college friends. They were fun and goofy guys, very much computer nerds. This was in the very late 1970's and early 1980's. But we both were soon dismayed to find they had joined "Scientology." We liked to have dinner and laughs with them and they coaxed us into "meeting them" at the NYC "Scientology" center so my hub and I sat in the lobby and waited for them. We were fully aware that both of us were viewed as enticing recruitment targets and it was like some idiotic "coup" for them to even get us to sit our fannies in their stupid building. After pointedly expressing no interest our friends went along with us for our dinner and nothing else was said. They of course "disappeared" into the Scientology muck and one of them even abandoned his computer equipment (he was a PDP fanatic) that we stored for him in our garage for many years.

I'm a lifelong living attestation of the Roman Catholic Church as the one true faith sprung from Jesus Christ, Lord and Savior, and my ex husband was an agnostic secularized Jew, yet we both agreed on one thing. Scientologists make Moonies look good.

And yeah, I know they have a perverted interest in me and just about everyone else on the planet. God will deal with them, don't you worry about that.
